Lie To Me

I have officially watched it two times. The ending still bugs me but thanks to tons of searches and explanations, I was able to understand what the ending was all about….
Yea they should have just stopped at the box (I will elaborate later). Here is the synopsis. Even though the ending made you scratch your head and bust out your GPS to find what you thought you lost (like the resolution?). It really is enjoyable, hot and the pace of the love story was good. But now thinking about it, two people got screwed and I kinda want to know what happens to them.
I never care about other secondary characters unless the drama presents them in a way that you need to find out because, because, dammit you made them interesting and I have to know if they will be happy.
On to the things I liked!
·         Yoon Eun-Hye as Gong Ah-Jung- She is pretty stable when you meet her. First thing that bugged me is, why she is genius in planning touristy stuff for the country but cannot figure out that the guy you befriended is your boyfriend’s younger brother! One other slap –her- in- the- face silly behavior is talking to your frenemy , it really is beyond me . I would have slapped her (frenemy) two Sundays ago and paddled her ass until she cried for mercy and gave me a massage (cause that’s how I roll). Last thing that bugs me about  her that I thought was really out of character was her doubts about her relationship with her man and had to go away for 3 months to find what she lost. Yea good luck with that sista.

·         Kang Ji-hwan as Hyun Ki-Joon- He totally gave you the impression he would be a snobby toe tapper. The only flaw he has is his indecision in not wanting to hurt his ex-fiancé and wanting to start with his new girlfriend with his ex-fiancé out of the picture. You got that? If you didn’t I’m sorry, it’s Asian (the drama that is) they like to run in circles. He's all, "I’ll stay in the picture until you get over me" and she's all, "Oh no you didn’t! We were engaged and you can’t get all up in another relationship and forget about me." You get the deal.

·         Sung Joon as Hyun Sang-hee- Brother of Hyun Ki-Joon he was the cause of his older brother breaking up with his fiancé. Granted he knew her before she met his brother and she only liked him as a friend. He disappears after he caused all that ruckus only to meet our girl Gong Ah-Jung and start falling for her. But don’t worry, he learned his lesson sucked it up and…. You see we don’t know what the hell happens to him. WTF drama?!
·         Jo Yoon-hee as Oh Yoon-Joo- She is not a bad girl in the typical dramas. Her story is quite sad and understandable. Though she is a little loopy if you think you can walk back and think that everything is the way you left it cause really… you silly girl!
What happens to you when you get over him?
·         Hong Soo-Hyun as Yoo So-Ran-aka the frenemy. I consider her the bad girl. She was Gong Ah-Jung’s best friend. She knew her ultimate crush and decided to marry him and not tell her until Gong Ah-Jung busted her. They haven’t spoken or seen each other until they ran into each other at a beauty salon (years after) with her trying to rub in that Ah-Jung is still not married thus provoking our heroine to say a little white lie which escalated into Defcon 5! Along the way So Ran tones it down and ends up being friends with Ah-Jung but honestly, her sincerity is lacking and I wish she would disappear for, ever ,ever ( adapting Taylor Swift’s song there).

Things I didn’t Like
·         Gong Ah-Jung has to be either one thing or a little of everything without going out of balance. You can’t get her to be too naïve and not realize she didn’t put 2 and 2 together about the younger brother. Have her be the go to person at the Tourism office. But be all I need my space because I need to sort this out like a reasonable and seasoned woman. Yeah not buying it for some reason.
·          and So Ran- Throughout the whole drama you really want to punch her in the tit and laugh at her hardships. But the whole friendship make-up I don’t buy. I don’t know if the actress didn’t convey it convincingly or in the end she is like a cat. She can be cute and petted but can turn on you if she is not in the mood.
I forgot to mention you have the aunt who in this case is not a bad person per say but boy is she pushy. Always threatening our boy. There were a few times I shouted at her. I said “He graduated, runs the best hotel there is and you want to kick him out if he doesn’t do it your way?” Also “He said he would handle it like he’s always done! Why do you doubt?!” (insert meme here). “He’s only close to 40!” I tell you. All in all it really is a great drama. Those few quibbles for me didn’t take too much from the drama. If you’re in doubt about the ending, comment me and I’ll explain it to you as I’ve researched it.  Oh almost forgot about the box. The box was sent to Ah-Jung from her boyfriend. He packed cute knick knacks that chronicled their love life. I think it is the most romantic and sweetest thing I man can do or send to a woman. If the drama showed that and show when they meet at the end it really cements why she left and what she thought she lost. But noooooo they had to elaborate so much that the meaning got lost. The important thing is that the ending is happy folks. I give it 7 out of 10 Woo Woos

Me Too, Flower

I was shocked by how good is this drama. I saw the title, looked online and read the synopsis but I was not compelled to watch it until trolling through tumblr and read one poster’s review.  I then decided to take a shot at it…. OH. MY. GOD!

It is not stated directly, but the police chick is older than millionaire boy. Now part of the review I read said that he may look like a kid but he kisses and acts like a boss. You are pretty much spellbound and in the process of watching, you forget his actual age...His voice? Just dreamy.

Things I liked:
·         Yoon Shi Yoon as Seo Jae Hee : He really acted awesome I think. He owned that role and that kiss! I can’t help it folks he’s a few of the youngins that made me forget I was 34 and wanting a piece of that action. He is definitely in a better place mentally than his love interest but he has a few ghosts and issues he deals with once he hooks up with his girl.
  • Lee Ji Ah as Cha Bong Sun : Look, I’m not gonna lie she is like the female version of male douchebags in most dramas we watch. She is completely jaded, cynical, sarcastic troll wrapped up in I-hate-the-world burrito.

But once her story starts unraveling, man just kills me! Why are you so awesome and can I hug you?!
·         Jo Min-Gi as Park Tae-Hwa: Cha Bong Sun’s shrink. He is really great in this drama. His insights are phenomenal! His story and his bits are just great.
·         Han Go-Eun as Park Hwa Young- Bitch is crazy.
You think she is normal and has crush on millionaire guy but DUDE! She gets like batshit crazy. and you are like, you need help.
I can’t say I disliked anything really. I think the premise of the drama is very different from most drama I’ve seen. You got a depressed police officer who everyone and I mean everyone hates. And her coming to terms with her issue, meeting a man who helps her heals and in turn heals him too. Very cool. Not too angsty I think but all in all I really great gem of a drama. 3 kiss scenes for those who are interested to know. I give it a 7 out of 10 woo woos

Mischievous Kiss/Playful Kiss

It was some form of miracle that I finished this drama. It sucks you in and then a stupid stunt happens in
the drama and you’re like this .
You fall in love with the certain characters and you have to watch it because damnit! They need love too!
I have never seen stalking so glorified before. I mean really! This is like Single White Female shit except it’s a dude and a girl. At the rate she was going I would not be surprised if she dressed like a dude and tried to make the dude like her if he couldn’t like her as a girl. But I digress. You can read about the drama here.
Things I liked:
  1. Baek Seung Jo’s mom. She knows what her son needs. She is always conspiring in getting him and Oh Ha Ni (Main Girl) to hook up. She is a treat. Though why her son is an absolute prick is beyond me
  2.  Oh Ha Ni friends. Honestly, I can’t find the time to find their names. Very nice and entertaining girls though why they think their friend's stalking mannerism is okay is beyond me once again. This is what this show’s logic looks like

Things I thoroughly disliked:
1- Baek Seung Jo- Guy has no friends and acts like a total dick to the girl. He doesn't know how to show his affections to her.
I mean seriously, his behavior is so off putting it made me want to slap him like a bitch.

2- Oh. Ha.Ni- I thought the girl from Personal Taste had some issues, this chick takes the cake. Where do I begin?.... If my crush grades my love letter and makes a scene of said letter in front of every student in my school you can be sure that my love for him would have died.

If he constantly called me stupid and shows no affection until I basically tell him to go Fuck a dead donkey. WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
They should totally use her as Anastasia in 50 shades because seriously his pretty face is not enough for me to take that shit
(take that and that and that!). I’ve read that this drama is  from a manga. The ending I know is happy but meh!
I give this a 4 out of 10 woo woos.  Seriously just talking about this warrants me not to post the woo woo pic.

Office Girls

Thank you Office Girls for introducing me to Roy Chiu.

But I digress, you may find the synopsis here. Love Love Love! office girls to the point of watching it again along with Drunken to Love You. We got the typical son of a rich father who owns a major retail mall. Qin Zi Qi (Roy Chiu) who comes back from the states pretty much wants to run the mall faster than Takeru Kobayashi at a hot dog eating contest.

Typical of any Asian drama he runs into Sheng Xin Ren (Alice Ko) the hard working sassy girl in the Sales Department. What I liked is that there was no love triangle. Well the audience knows this but not the main dude. For me, it kept us focused on Zi Qi’s survival and quest in conquering Xin Ren’s heart. Survival you say? Well if you’ve not read the synopsis just yet, Zi Qi’s father wants his son to learn the ropes in running the business before he bequeaths it to him.  His dad noticed that his son is far too spoiled and wanted to teach him how to be responsible about money and the people who work for the company. This drama does have the evil mother (but not as evil as you think), and of course The Bitch who wants everything.
What I loved!:
1.       Roy Chiu: Great eye candy throughout the drama. Plus he played his role great.

His character is one who acknowledges his crush for  Xin Ren. His feelings for her doesn’t sway but boy did he have to work for it. Plus his scenes with Patrick Li…there are no words to describe the awesomeness of this duo.  You just have to watch it.
2.       Patrick Li (Shi Ta Long): He is a jerk boss at his department. But we discover that he has sweet spot for his employees. His random pop culture reference coupled with his English phrases had me laughing and cheering like a fangirl at a Jerry Springer show when he is on screen.

I have to see him in more! In fact, he should take a leap to star something here in the U.S. He is that good, like SNL good. He is magical--really I can’t stop gushing about this guy.
3.       Liu Yu Le- Her voice is slightly annoying she is the best friend for our girl Xie Ren. She is-in-your -face-talk to the hand – kind of girl. I enjoyed her in this drama.

What I didn’t like:
1.       Xie Ren- I get the whole, I’m-insecure-because-I’m ugly-,vibe. I get the, he-is-rich-and-I’m-dumb-vibe. I get it. I can accept multiple episodes about it. But there is a limit folks. Seriously, there is a limit. It’s enough to make me fly to Taipei and start piling bodies
This drama could have been done in fewer episodes and a number of typical drama cliques get thrown in for good measure but honestly even with these little minor hiccups it really is a great drama to watch. So I hope you can drop by and give me your thoughts.

I give this drama 7 out of 10 Woo Woos

Boys Over Flowers

This drama had me looking up 3 actors. Lee Minho, Kim Beom and Kim Hyun Joong.  Here is the synopsis for the drama. This drama was for the most part entertaining, But I had quibbles on some of the antics in this drama.

Quibbles:
1.     I can accept the evil mother, the girl crushing on 2nd lead dude becoming one-sided love then   flipped to one-sided love from dude. I can even accept the forced engagement. What I can't accept is the male lead getting amnesia. I mean come on. You spent the majority of this damn drama telling the story of  2 people coming together to overcome evil mom and cock-blocking 2nd lead man to jay-jay blocking and then add one other crisis because you need to fill the last couple episodes?! Seriously!

2.  Jan Di (heroine) for a feisty and tell-it-like-it-is-female, she was the most frustrating person to watch. For someone who is supposed to be so gung-ho, she really can't make up her mind.  When she finally grows a pair and decides to get the guy, we have spent 15 episodes for her to get her shit together. This is despite the fact she had the other 3 flower boys telling her about him and she.will.not.take.said advice! You YOU!

Things I liked:
1.     Lee Minho as Gu Jun Pyo- He is a dick. No question. He warms up later in the series, but you know what I really liked about his character? (FREAKIN LEE MINHO BITCHES) When he says he loves you or likes you, he doesnt change his mind he doesnt avoid the topic and he will tell you to your face. It was surprising that in a few episodes he acknowledged his feelings for Jan Di and tells her. Mind you he does stoop to the noble idiocy behavior but he never wavers. Unlike the female lead.

2.     Kim Hyun Joong  as Ji Hoo- I sympathized with second leads in dramas but once the OTP pair up I have no problems wishing them well after rejection. There are 3 second male leads that made me wish they had a chance and should have hooked up. Lee Ki Woo (the Pillar in Flower Boy Ramyun Shop), Jung Yong-hwa as Kang Shin Woo in (Youre Beautiful) and theres Ji Hoo. He annoyed me in the beginning I wont lie. But as the drama progressed he started to be outgoing and interacting with Jan Di. I was totally rooting for him so bad.
3.     Jan Di- Is cool and I can understand her hesitation in taking Gu Jun Pyo seriously.  I do understand. We are talking about a conceited and arrogant son of a bitch who treated you like a piece of shit in school and now he says he likes you?!
All in all if youre in the mood for a little suspension of disbelief (trust me, besides the series of clichés thrown at this drama coupled with a school that for someone reason lack teachers). It is a cute and frustrating drama. A good day killer. Not a lot of kisses or good ones at that but for me it was enjoyable. It led to me finding  three great guys.

I give it 6 of 10 woo woos

Sunny Happiness (Taiwanese Drama)

25 Episodes of cool and just-blow-me-up-oh-my-god! WHAT IS THIS?!!! WTF?

The first Episodes were good. Very entertaining and funny. For more info click here.
But then I started having issues with this drama:
1.       I had 2 episodes which I needed to read the recaps, because for some reason they decided not to have these 2 episodes available. I’m not sure if this was a ploy to get us drama watchers to tune in though, honestly, those 2 episodes just want me to want to carve my brain out with a rusty spoon.

2.       I don’t mind the nobility stupidity as everyone in the drama circles calls it. But IF THE GUY TELLS YOU HE WANTS TO START OVER WITH YOU, HE LIKES YOU! Then freakin go for it! She is told REPEATEDLY! He says he has no feelings for his ex, she is just my baby’s momma.  Seriously how many excuses can she drum up to avoid this guy?

3.       Baby momma’s behavior doesn’t add up. She is one cool elegant ex-anchor woman. And all of sudden she goes from I-can –handle-it-cause-I’m –a-tough-bitch to  I-want-my-ex- let-me-resort to-tactics-to-break-them-apart.
4.       I felt that this drama could have used fewer episodes.
5.       I’m bothered why I haven’t heard about the kid’s reaction to the ending.

What was okay (can’t say I liked):
1.       The main guy Xiang Yun Jie is a cold blunt rich business man. His first marriage was screwed and finds out he is a daddy. His progression to being his old self was good and his patience in dealing with Yong Yong is phenomenal. I would have dropped her so fast you have no clue. The man is a saint.
2.       Fang Yong Yong is cool for the most part. What I don’t get, for a woman who is sarcastic and speaks her mind she sure is stupid when it comes to love. Granted, she is not experienced but really?! What does it take? I’ll tell you what it takes. It takes a whole bunch of people for you to realize they do want to see you happy! STOOPID!
3.       Xiang Yun Chao is the younger brother of Yun Jie. Whatevs
4.       Fang Yong Yong’s family, is the comedic relief of this drama.

In conclusion my friends. If you want to blank out your mind and you are in the mood to shout at your laptop then Sunny Happiness is for you. I give it 4 out of 10 Woo woos. Can’t even bother in posting the woo woo pic.

Personal Taste

I remember reading the synopsis and thought I dont know if I want to watch it. Especially the way they described it. I typed away like a mad woman and confirmed it had a happy ending and thus broke down to watch.
OH.MY.GOD! What is this gem of a drama?! First episode was hilarious and I screamed so hard
I had my husband running in the room only to give me a nasty look and walk away.

LEE MINHO is in it?! Why did I not see this?!!! (Facepalm). So after watching it, I was raving , I was bitching and I was recommending it to my cousin to watch it.
Things I liked about the drama:
Lee Min-ho as Jeon Jin - I have watched several dramas with him in it and I can say he is a solid actor. On top of that, very good looking and can kiss a girl that is guaranteed to have her do unspeakable things to him.

Son Ye-jin as Park Gae In- I liked her characters personality but there were a few things about some of her personality  that I wanted to slap her repeatedly and scream out loud why is she making us women look bad!!!!! I forgave her because she got the man and I envy her. She will be lip locking that son of a bitch like a Chinese finger trick.
Kim Ji-seok as Han Chang Ryul- A very, very attractive guy. The dick ex-boyfriend who I came to find out is in I Need Romance 2 (which is currently airing). I will be watching you closely sir.
Wang Ji Hye as Kim In Hee- OH.MY.GOD! I thought the bad chick from City Hall was bad but this one here. UGH! Where do I begin?! She must be one helluva an actress for me to go over and bitch slap her so hard. Her character is truly despicable and whatever redemption they gave her in the drama was not enough for me. She should jump off a cliff somewhere.
I felt the synopsis on wiki was not accurate so I decided to clarify some things.  Jeon Jin is an up and coming architect, to cement his place in the industry he competes with Chang Ryul (another architect firm) to bid on designing a museum.
Jeon Jin finds out that the museum director wanted Park Gae Ins dad (renowned architect) to design it. But due to circumstances, he never finished and never wanted to do the work. Thus leading Jeon Jin (stroke of luck) to meet Park Gae In and somehow live with her under the guise of a gay man. Let the hilarity, spark and romance begin.
There are more things involved but we are talking about the OTP here. In any case if you want to watch a funny, romantic and heart pounding drama Personal Taste is the right one for you. I give this one 10 of 10 woo woos.
